The End of the Beginning

In the final episode of the Eternal Book we find Moshe Rabbeinu, the ultimate leader, stepping back and letting the rest of the scenes of history unravel on their own. Having set down the foundations for the ultimate and complete redemption, he could now step off stage and eagerly await to see the fruits of his labors.

One hundred and twenty years of intense spiritual struggle did not produce an old man on his deathbed. At the height of his physical and spiritual strength, he ignored the Angel of Death who had come to claim him, and after blessing the nation that had barred his entrance into the Land, he ascended the mountain of Nevo. From there he prophetically saw the Holy Land and inspired it with his spirituality. Although he was not yet allowed to unite with the divine forces he had acquired, he was allowed at least to see all the holiness inherent in the Land that he had fought for, and appreciate the fruit of his labors that he would enjoy in the End of Days. To be able to see fully, though, he had to receive the complete stature of his elevated soul, beyond the restrictions of matter, even the lesser limitation of his holy body. And with this his lofty spirit left his refined body to dwell in the celestial plain of 'Mo'ab', the seat of wisdom called 'Abba', to oversee the force of promiscuity called 'Peor' and supervise it's influence. Even so his remaining earthly body could still not lose all it's immense life force, and the little bit left was enough to keep the body as alive as we are today.

His holy body, confined and hidden, is only to be discovered after the final conquest of Truth over Evil. Then the world will be ready for his great soul to return and lead his eternal people to eternal reward.
